27th September 2019 — This month, 1st Calne Guides and Calne District Rangers came to St Mary’s Calne for a POP Lacrosse taster session. Several Year 11 and Year 13 girls kindly volunteered, along with Miss Stephens, to teach the Guides some lacrosse; for most of the Guides this was the first time that they had experienced lacrosse.

Despite a persistent drizzle, the girls had a fantastic time and didn’t want it to end! Guiding is all about girls extending themselves and trying new things, and the Guides were very grateful to St Mary's for having this opportunity. It was also a great chance for the St Mary’s girls to share their expertise and teach complete novices; the time they gave for this activity was absolutely priceless, especially when you saw what fun the girls were all having.
