Kingswood Runners Qualify At Cross Country Championships

On Monday 11 November, Kingswood hosted the Bath and North East Somerset Cross Country Championship on the Upper.

20th November 2019 — Over 600 runners from schools all over the region took part hoping to gain selection for the Bath and North East Somerset team’s future events.

Out of the 19 Schools and Colleges that took part, Kingswood produced the most qualifying runners for the 3rd consecutive year and recorded team victories in three of the eight race categories.

Charlie, Rob, Lizzie and Jim all achieved individual podium places, but it was our strength in depth that really shone through. It was great to see the team-work and pack-mentality of the Intermediate and Senior boys against some rising headwinds. The Intermediate girls would have also returned a big win but for a missing runner to count for the team.

All of this bodes well for the Avon county races to be held at Kingswood next term and the cross country season as a whole.
