Over 100 Under-11 boys from Westbourne House School, Highfield School, Bedales Prep School - Dunhurst, The Portsmouth Grammar Junior School, Aldro School, Ardingly College, Dorset House School, Bournemouth Collegiate School, Hampshire Collegiate Prep and Twyford School played in the Under 11 IAPS 7-a-side Football qualifying tournament.

Westbourne House School organised the event and tournament organiser Gideon Sutcliffe was delighted to welcome referees from University of Chichester and Jason Dodd former Southampton FC footballer and now head of football at Winchester College.

Mr Dodd said: "This is what football is about - loads of children, loads of matches and everyone enjoying the game with smiles on their faces in spite of the horrendous weather. It's great to see such enthusiasm on the pitch and friendly support from the parents. Congratulations on a fabulous tournament!"

In the mud and the rain Aldro School were crowned winners of the IAPS tournament and Dorset House School were runners-up.

Gideon Sutcliffe from Westbourne House School said: "It was a real pleasure to welcome ten schools to Westbourne House to play fast and furious 7-a-side football in a fiercely contested but friendly tournament. Well done to everyone who took part."

About Westbourne House School

All that I am, everything I can be

Westbourne House School is a co-educational, boarding and day Prep, Pre-Prep and Nursery school for children aged two-and-a-half to thirteen.

At Westbourne House, we uncover the magic in each child and ensure they make the most of the world of experiences offered to them here. We develop lifelong learners, cultivate curiosity and reward initiative. Most importantly, we do this within a kind, caring and happy environment.

Westbourne House School has an outstanding reputation for all-round excellence and over 100 scholarships in the last five years - in a variety of disciplines to top-tier secondary schools - bear testament to that.  However, this isn’t how we measure achievements here: we see success as achieving personal bests and being the best that YOU can be. Children often exceed their expectations.

The Independent Schools Inspectorate report (2015) found the quality of the pupils' achievements, personal development and school leadership to be 'excellent'.
