1st March 2018 — His wealth of expertise as a writer of novels, screenplays and graphic novels was shared with the senior boys at Homefield Preparatory School who had braved it in to school on such a snowy day. As a multiple award winner, Tony has created comics such as X-MEN UNLIMITED and worked for a variety of publishers on licenses including Spider Man, Teen Titans, She Hulk, Daredevil, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Superboy, Starship Troopers, Battlestar Galactica, Wallace & Gromit, Sherlock Holmes and Shrek! He has also adapted into graphic novels a variety of books including Anthony Horowitz's HOROWITZ HORROR and RAVENS GATE series and has achieved countless awards from different countries for his work.

Tony feels that one of the biggest problems students have when writing stories is that ‘they get too attached to one thing, get ‘tunnel vision’ or ‘blinkers’ about the story and it fails as a result’. Today Homefield boys were given the chance to share their ideas and decide on what each other’s characters should do next in the exciting ‘Wheel of Misfortune’ workshop. All of the groups had great fun feeding in their ideas and seeing alternate takes on their creations. It really was a World Book Day to remember!

Lisa Cassidy, Head of Homefield’s English Department expressed her joy by saying: ‘The boys were thrilled to welcome Tony and listen to how his love of comics has led to such a fantastic writing career, they have been truly inspired! I can’t wait to see their next piece of creative writing!’
