It's Nativity Time at Babington!

It’s Nativity time at Babington! Parents and Grandparents were treated to wonderful performances by Babington House School Nursery, Reception and Year 1 & 2 Classes.

Image Description

5th December 2019 — Nursery, dressed in their Christmas jumpers, presented their ‘I-Spy Christmas’ where they retold the Christmas Story through song and phonics!

Reception class performed ‘A Miracle in Town’ telling the wonderful miracle of the very first Christmas that would change the world forever.

‘The Landlord’s Cat’ by Julia and Antony Copus was expertly performed by Years 1 & 2. Some children settle down for a night in their onesies for their Christmas story. They eagerly watch and listen to the story unfolding before their eyes. One night a young man and his wife arrive at the inn and are shown to the stable. To everyone else they seem like an ordinary couple but cats are wily and intuitive creatures and sense that something very special is about to happen.

Mr Lello, Headmaster commented, "I am delighted that Babington still enjoys the Christian Nativity story, especially when so many other schools are moving to a more secular focus."

A broad Christian ethos is promoted at Babington and will continue next week when we end the term with a celebration of Christmas with separate Carol Services at Christ Church for Prep and Senior Pupils.

About Babington House School

Babington House School is an independent co-educational day school from 3 to 18 years, situated in a beautiful group of buildings on Grange Drive in Chislehurst, near Bromley. The boys and girls receive first class education in a supportive and academic environment.

At Babington House, “pupils throughout the school display excellent attitudes to learning that are evident in all that they do, and an atmosphere of happy endeavour permeates school life”, independent school inspectors find.

In November 2016, Babington House School had an Educational Quality and Compliance Inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).

The school received the highest grade possible in all categories and across every age group which, under the new Inspection Framework, is described as 'Excellent'.   This is very rare indeed particularly for an all through school from 3 to 18 years.  Babington could not have done better and such a result from a more robust inspection framework is a remarkable achievement for the school community.

Key Findings:
Quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements – Excellent
Quality of the pupils’ personal development – Excellent

“Pupils are confident, independent learners and thinkers with high personal values and an awareness of their responsibilities in the outside world, fully reflecting the school’s aims.  They contribute fully to the happy, relaxed and close-knit community.”
