Bruton School for Girls recently welcomed back esteemed ‘old girl’ Clarissa Farr as guest speaker at its annual Speech Day. Ms Farr is an expert in girls’ education as the former High Mistress of St Paul's Girls' School, one of the top schools in the country. She spoke directly to the girls in the audience as she reminisced about her school days and gave some inspiring advice. Using the school initials, BSG, she encouraged students to be ‘bold’ with their choices; embrace and own their ‘self’ and what makes them individual and ‘grab’ all the opportunities that come their way.
The sun shone as girls from across the school received awards and the Upper Sixth leavers were celebrated and congratulated as they embark on the next step of their lives.
Nicky Botterill, Headmistress said: "It was wonderful to welcome Clarissa back to BSG as our guest of honour. Her impressive career and the fact that she spent her formative years at the school meant her words were even more compelling for the school community and clearly demonstrate the power of all-girls education.”
