22nd December 2017 — For the choir, highlights from the Christmas term included a performance at the St John the Evangelist Arts Centre, where they gave a varied programme in a public concert in aid of Muscular Dystrophy, and of course, the School Carol Service at St Andrew’s, where they sang beautifully.

On a different note, eleven talented bands from all year groups made it to the final of ‘Battle of the Bands’. Jay Stapley, the renowned session musician, whittled down from nearly thirty groups who entered and the final was judged by Colin Greenwood (of Radiohead fame) and Alex Tester (Director of Music at St Edwards). It was a very exciting night.

At the Carol Service, Seongho (Year 8) played a solo on the harp and the senior saxophone quartet played ‘Deck the Halls’. The brass were also in action entertaining at the Dragon Sale. Seven concerts in a week ended another busy term of music, with performances by musicians from the Pre-Prep to the Scholars’ Ensembles.
