Huge congratulations to LEH student and cellist Megan (Year 9) who was declared the winner of the Kingston Festival on Saturday night.

Image Description
LEH student Megan, winner of Kingston Music Festival 2020 and Henry of Hampton School, who was runner-up.

She performed a mesmerising and dazzling programme of Meditation by Thais followed by the extraordinarily virtuosic variation on one string by Paganini and brought the house down. This is the culmination of months of classes involving hundreds of musicians and the school congratulates Megan on being declared the overall winner and awarded the title of Kingston Young Musician 2020.

Interestingly enough, the runner-up was Henry from Hampton School, who also plays in the LEH Symphony Orchestra with Megan and is a superb horn player!
