3rd May 2019 — The Royal Grammar School Worcester (RGSW) announced their merger with Dodderhill Independent Girls School in March, with the School taking legal governance at one minute past midnight on 29 April. The School now has the official title of ‘RGS Dodderhill’, with the RGSW family now offering girl’s only education.

The newly appointed Headmistress, Sarah Atkinson, says of her new role: “I am very excited to be in this role, which will become official when the current Headmistress, Cate Mawston, retires in September this year. Until that time, I shall be spending as much time as possible at RGS Dodderhill, and would like to encourage as many people as possible to come and visit the School.”

Mrs Atkinson went on to say: “I believe RGS Dodderhill has been a hidden gem within our community and we are keen to throw open our doors and share our vision for the School’s exciting future. I want to create a School environment where girls can feel confident in their own skin, with the benefits of being in a single-sex environment, but with full access to co-educational opportunities through working in partnership with RGS Worcester.”
