7th November 2018 — It was with great excitement that, after months of planning, staff and pupils at King’s Hall were finally able to unveil phase one of their brand new adventure playground this week. The impressive apparatus includes a lookout tower, crow’s nest deck, swings and traversing ropes, with additional equipment set to appear over the coming months.

For the grand opening, School Chaplain, Father Mark, performed a ceremonial blessing, before the pupils enjoyed testing out the new play area.

Director of Development at King’s Schools, Julian Mack, said: “The playground was masterminded by the children for the children, with some guidance from our contractor, Mike, who came in to run a workshop with the pupils earlier this year. On this occasion, we have been unable to deliver the chocolate fountain that was desired by many, but at least the swings have made the final cut!”

He added: "The vision is to carpet the area in many more structures, which will in turn take the children a million miles away from the classroom and bring more levity and laughter to their break time.”

The launch of this project has been made possible through the generosity of several families at King’s Hall and, considering how much of a hit phase one has been with the pupils, we look forward to making phases two and three a future reality.
