5th February 2020 — Bonnie Barton, Head of DT at Hazlegrove Prep School is the very proud recipient of the Most Inspirational Teacher of Design and Technology awarded by the Design and Technology Association and The Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Bonnie said, 'When I started at Hazlegrove as Head of DT, I had spent a number of years previously working as a county subject adviser, and knew that there was plenty to be done in terms of moving the department forward. Nearly four years later, the DT department is a modern and vibrant department that teaches children a multi-material approach to problem solving and vital life skills. I am incredibly proud to teach such an amazing subject to the most wonderful pupils'.

The children were full of praise too. Grace in Year 7 said, 'Mrs Barton brings everyone together and is wonderful at teaching us an exciting subject and she inspires us to be creative', whilst Poppy, also in Year 7 described how 'DT is the place where my creativity gets turned into reality and Mrs Barton inspires us to work hard but be creative'.
