A New Headmaster for Twickenham Prep

The Governors of Twickenham Preparatory School are very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Oliver Barrett as Headmaster from September 2020. Oliver will be joining from St George’s Junior School, Weybridge where he is Academic Deputy Head.

18th June 2020 — The Governors of Twickenham Preparatory School are very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Oliver Barrett as Headmaster from September 2020.

Oliver will be joining the school from St George’s Junior School, Weybridge where he is currently serving as Academic Deputy Head. He joined St George’s Juniors as Head of Year 6 fourteen years ago and has successfully developed his career there. In his role as Deputy Head, he is line manager for thirteen curriculum leaders and an Assistant Head. Oliver knows this area well, having grown up locally and attended Hampton School. He is married with two daughters at Senior School, is a Governor at Manby Lodge School and active in charity work and volunteering.

Harry Bates, the Chair of Governors, said: “The Governors are delighted that Oliver will be taking over the leadership of Twickenham Prep. Oliver impressed all of us with both his understanding of the school and vision for the future. We are very much looking forward to working with him.”

Commenting on his appointment, Oliver said: “I am very excited about the prospect of leading an outstanding school, focused on child-centred, individual education with a strong community feel.”

Twickenham Preparatory School is a leading and successful independent co-educational day school for children aged 4 to 13 situated in Hampton, South West London. The School was originally founded on Twickenham Green in 1969 by a small group of parents and moved to its new home in Hampton in 1992 to accommodate its growing numbers.
