8th July 2019 — Godstowe Preparatory School's love of and success in reading have been recognised in awards from the company that runs Accelerated Reader. This year, nine Godstowe classes from Year 4 to Year 7 appear on the Renaissance National Roll of Honour as Master Classes. The girls have been rewarded for the amount of time they have spent reading and their consistently high quiz scores over most of the school year. These girls have received pin badges to wear with pride on their collars.
For the second year running, Godstowe has been awarded Master School status, putting them into the top 20 schools out of the 5000 who use the Accelerated Reader scheme.
More than eight out of ten girls have averaged at least 85% in their quizzes this year, and the average time spent reading each day stands at 41 minutes per person - far higher than the 25 minutes required to qualify for the award.
