Tudor Hall is unique in so many ways. It is a small, vibrant, full boarding and day school which definitely ‘punches above its weight’. The academic results are excellent, produced by young women who have been selected for places at the school not just on their academic ability but also their personal strengths. The girls are not of one type and this creates a community where everybody recognises its members as individuals and celebrates this. Staff work with pupils to ensure that each one is encouraged and supported to do her best. The girls are ambitious and determined to make the most of the many opportunities in school and beyond.
Sixth-former Claire won two races with her crew at the Northampton Head of the Nene competition.
1st February 2018 — Claire rows with the Stratford-upon-Avon Boat Club and had great success at the Northampton Head of the Nene competition, winning both the Coxless and Coxed Fours with her Under 18 crew. Claire has rowed for six years and trains hard, putting in six hours at weekends and a further two evenings during the week, but she says the hard work is worth it for the experience of being on the river and doing something completely different from school work! She has other races coming up at Hammersmith, Evesham and Worcester, and we look forward to following her progress.
Outstanding results at Tudor Hall including the highest percentage of A* grades
Tudor Hall students and staff are celebrating outstanding A Level results with all students achieving excellent outcomes and going on to a range of top universities. The girls achieved the highest percentage of A*’s since they were introduced.
17th August 2017 — Tudor Hall students and staff are celebrating outstanding A Level results with all students achieving excellent outcomes and going on to a range of top universities. The girls achieved the highest percentage of A*’s since they were introduced with approximately one in five of all passes at grade A*. 44% of grades achieved were A*/A and 78% A*- B and 25% of all candidates achieved a minimum of 3 passes at grade A. Ten departments achieved 100% A*-B, these include Maths, Chemistry, Economics and Drama. These results are a just conclusion to a year of academic and co-curricular achievement in all areas. The progression of our students from 11+ and 13+ entry to their final examinations is a reflection of their hard work and the dedication and expertise of their teachers.
Wendy Griffiths, Headmistress, said, "This has been a challenging year for teachers and pupils all over the country with the uncertainty surrounding standards in examinations as result of the introduction of linear A Levels. Our fantastic results highlight the systematic and rigorous preparation by the girls and their teachers. We are particularly delighted with our highest ever percentage of A* grades. However, we are proud of the results of all our students and the progress they have made. We welcome girls with diverse talents and it is wonderful to see our all girls leave us as confident young women ready to embark on degree courses in universities including Bristol, UCL, Newcastle and Parson’s New York to study subjects such as Medicine, Economics and Zoology. We all feel privileged to have played a part in their journey.”
Sophie Walker, who is delighted with three A*’s commented, “I am absolutely delighted with my results and cannot thank Tudor Hall enough for all their support, encouragement and for getting me to the end! I am so excited to see what my future holds and cannot wait to get started.”
Tish Bulwer-Long, who is elated with two A*’s and an A said, “It was a lot of hard work but I am so glad it all paid off in the end. Thank you to all the staff at Tudor for helping me through it. I was surprised but elated at my results and I am now looking forward to studying Marketing and Management at Exeter.”
Anna Stallibrass, who is going on to study Drama at the Oxford School of Drama said, “I am very pleased with my results but I couldn’t have done it without the help and support from all my teachers.”
Congratulations to all our girls as they move on to life after Tudor Hall. We wish them the best of luck as they continue on their life journey. #tudorgirlscan #tudorgirlsdo
