Terra Nova is a vibrant and exciting school set in 35 acres of rural Cheshire countryside. The perfect place for a child to grow and develop. The school is steeped in history and values the traditions that form the foundations on which a fresh thinking approach is adopted.

About the school

Relationships are further fostered, and independence developed with the opportunity for pupils to board at Terra Nova School in preparation for both Senior boarding schools and future university life. Pupils are enjoying flexible boarding from Year 3 to Year 8. There are currently 35-50 pupils boarding on a regular basis.

Terra Nova School prides itself on preparing pupils for the next stage in their education, through a dynamic, vibrant and engaging curriculum taught by world-class educators who have training and experience across the world. All this achieved making use of the very best resources. Many pupils leave Terra Nova with scholarships at prestigious Schools such as Shrewsbury, Uppingham, Rugby, Repton, Marlborough and Sedburgh. Other pupils have gone on to study at Eton and Oxford.


Terra Nova School offers an enviable setting for pupils, perfect for learning outside the classroom through the purpose built forest school set in our own woodlands, bespoke shooting range, all purpose floodlit astroturf, tennis courts, Performing Arts Centre and swimming pool. This summer the school has also developed two further facilities, a state of the art Makerspaceto enhance our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) programme and The Hub, a new a vibrant library and resource centre for pupils.

Scholarships, Bursaries & Fees

Every scholarship and bursary is subject to high standards of behaviour, attendance and work. The terms of a scholarship or bursary and in particular terms upon which benefits may become repayable are set out in the offer letter (where applicable) to Parents. The offer of any scholarship or bursary must be kept completely confidential.

Pupils can apply in Year 6 for a Scholarship in Year 7 and Year 8. Scholarships are offered in the following areas: Academic, Art, Design, Drama, Music, Science/Technology and Sport scholarships

Bursaries available: Clergy, HM Forces and Sibling discounts, Bursaries for new entrants

Fees Information

Terra Nova School Fees include the following:

Breakfast club (if required) which includes specific care for smaller children, and is available from 7.30am.
A multiple choice lunch including hot, cold and vegetarian options daily. (Food allergies and intolerances are fully catered)
Snacks, drinks and fruit available at break times.In school laundry and organisation of sportswear from Year 3.
An extensive selection of free after-school clubs for all years, including Prep.
Swimming Lessons, Forest School and Rhythm time for our Early Years children.
Supper (if required) from Year 3, and no additional cost if your child needs to stay until 7.30pm.
