Prince’s Gardens Preparatory School in South Kensington, which opens its doors in September 2020, has revealed its new innovative new website.
5th September 2019 — Prince’s Gardens Preparatory School, which opens its doors in September 2020, has revealed its new innovative new website created by inspiring UX agency Linney.
Nestled in the heart of Kensington, Prince’s Gardens Preparatory School is an independent school for boys and girls aged 3 – 11 years, educating children from Nursery through to Year 6. The new school is being developed by Cognita. Drawing on its success in establishing world-class schools in leading global cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and elsewhere in London, the global schools group is investing £10 million in facilities as the best offered by a prep school in central London.
The beautiful, Grade II listed Victorian buildings which will house the new school are currently undergoing extensive renovation so prospective parents will have to wait a little longer to see the school in person. The school’s facilities have been brought to life on the website with fantastic 3D virtual learning spaces. State-of-the-art science laboratories, the music room, the Maker Space as well as Nursery and Reception classrooms are some of the spaces that prospective parents can fully explore.
Parents can find out more about the new school through information events which will be held off site. The next information morning takes place at the premises of the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington Gore on Monday 23rd September at 10am. The school’s Senior Leadership Team will give a short presentation about the vision of the school. Parents may register for a place at the event by going to www.princesgardensprep.co.uk
Alison Melrose, Headmistress Elect says: ‘Prince’s Gardens Preparatory School will give each pupil an education which enables them to realise their potential and grow as individuals. Through a determined focus on academic excellence, character development and the nurturing of a global perspective, we wish to prepare our children for all the exciting challenges that life can offer’.
We want each child to foster a love for learning, develop their curiosity and be ambitious. We encourage children to relish all that school life has to offer so that they leave us at the end of Year 6 both confident and excited about their future. The school’s motto ‘Prepared. For everything’ sums this up.
The website features more about the school’s wide-ranging curriculum which draws on the proximity to London’s museums and outdoor spaces which serve as fantastic stimuli for collaborative learning projects and creating the next generation of independent, curious children.
Step 1 Book and attend an open morning:
https://www.stnicholasprep.co.uk/admissions-fees/visit-st-nicholas/ We encourage prospective parents to see our school in action during one of our open events. Open mornings are held during term-time. They start at 9:30am with a welcome from the Headmistress, followed by a school tour with a member of the senior leadership team and a Q&A session.
Step 2 Complete and return a registration form To apply for a place at St. Nicholas Preparatory School please complete our online registration form together with payment of a non-refundable registration fee of £100.
Step 3 Invitation to attend a Readiness session / assessment You will receive an email inviting your child to come in for a Readiness session/assessment (nursery to year 6) We are a non-selective school but we do assess potential pupils to determine their current academic level and how we can help them to fulfil their potential.
Nursery and Reception Readiness sessions– we invite all parents and their children to come in for a 30 min interview with the Head of Pre-Prep. This is a perfect opportunity for both the school and parents to get to know each other and discuss parents’ expectations.
Assessments for Year 1 to Year 6 pupils – children spend the whole day with us and take part in normal class activities. Lunch and snacks throughout the day will be provided.
Step 4 Offer of place Further to the interview/taster session/assessment places are offered as soon as possible. Should the assessment provide further reason for reflection the Admissions Team will contact you for further discussion.
