See you soon!
Pownall Hall School is a 2-11, co-educational school set on the cusp of Wilmslow in Cheshire. The Grade I and II listed building is bedecked with beautiful arts and crafts, originally garnered from the Great Exhibition of 1851 and the Liverpool Exhibition of 1876.
The stained glass is widely regarded as the best quality glass outside of the Royal Palaces and emblazons the classrooms and Hall with glorious colours and inspirational words.
The campus is spread across 8+ acres, affording us the opportunity to learn outside within secure and beautiful natural surroundings, as well as to train hard to achieve our sporting successes; good location for Winter Wonderland and Summer Fairs, too!
Joe Butler-Smith, Head Boy at Pownall Hall School, has fulfilled a dream by attaining the lead as Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in London's West End. In addition, he has just been offered a place to join Manchester Grammar School for Year 7, in 2016.
25th September 2015 — “I've heard tell that what you imagine sometimes comes true” - Grandpa Joe
For Joe Butler-Smith, Head Boy at Pownall Hall School, Wilmlsow, Cheshire, Grandpa Joe's words proved prophetic. Joe has claimed the 'golden ticket' and has been signed up to play the lead role of Charlie Bucket in the West End Musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Joe has six weeks of rehearsals coming up and then will be thrust on to the famous stage in front packed houses! We shall see him regularly as when he is not performing he will be returning to Pownall and school life in preparation for taking up his place in Year 7 at Manchester Grammar School in 2016.
Hearty, mighty congratulations, Joe! We look forward to seeing you 'strutting your stuff' on stage, and shall be cheering you along!
It shows once again that 'Everything is Possible' if we work hard to make and take all opportunities in our lives.
