Your child’s educational journey at Haberdashers' Monmouth Schools begins with our pre-prep and nursery for 3-7 year olds
Based at Agincourt, a delightful old rectory set in picturesque grounds, Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery offers a creative curriculum, providing a strong foundation in the core skills of literacy and numeracy, together with research and problem-solving skills. The magic of inspiring young minds is at the heart of all we do. Enrichment activities using our extensive grounds and all the facilities of our family of schools give each child the chance to flourish and shine. This co-educational foundation is the positive bedrock for future learning and children can move confidently onto the prep schools.
Monmouth children shine brightly in Christmas production
Children at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery shone brightly during their Christmas nativity.
6th December 2019 — The singing, dancing and acting skills of children at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery shone brightly during their Christmas nativity, An Angel’s Wish.
The children’s confident delivery, at The Blake Theatre on Friday 6th December, in front of an audience of hundreds was remarkable considering their young ages.
With fabulous costumes, the children performed beautifully on stage as they drew laughter, tears and cheers from parents, relatives and teachers. It was definitely an occasion to remember.
Senior Deputy Head, Mr Matt Wren, said: “The children were fantastic and I am grateful to all the staff, whose team effort – singing practises, rehearsals, costumes, props and choreography - brought our Christmas production together.

6th September 2019 — Children at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery were greeted with a stunning woodland scene on their first day of the new term.
As part of the A Walk in the Woods study topic, children in reception are learning about geographical features, while Year 1 will widen their knowledge of animal classification, and Year 2 will be taught about hibernation.
“Our dedicated and hard-working team at Agincourt have spent a great deal of the summer break transforming the school into inspirational learning environments,” said Mr Matt Wren, Senior Deputy Head at Monmouth Schools Pre-Prep and Nursery.
“It was lovely to see so many happy, smiling faces coming into school ready to embrace new challenges.”
Mr Wren added: “September is an exciting time for our children. They are embarking upon a new school year with eager anticipation and will forge new friendships, meet new teachers and learn new and inspiring things.”
Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools thank Millbrook Garden Centre for the loan of the lovely trees for the topic launch.
