Malvern St James Girls' School (MSJ) is a leading independent day and boarding school for girls aged 4-18 in Malvern, Worcestershire, offering exceptional academic, sport, music, drama and equestrian provision.
About the school
MSJ is recognised as one of the leading Independent Schools in Hereford and Worcestershire for A Level and GCSE exam results with superb value-added attainment. The School encourages girls to be ambitious and to follow their passions whether that be a high flying academic, a passionate sportswoman, or both.

MSJ Prep is in the same building as the Senior School, this means the younger girls benefit from the specialist facilities Seniors have access to such as science labs, sport and art facilities. The specialist subject teachers from the Senior School also teach in Prep and support after School clubs.
For your convenience wraparound care is offered for all pupils and girls can be looked after in School before morning registration and following the end of the School day.
With a roughly equal number of day girls and boarders, the School can offer the best of both worlds and a very flexible boarding programme. Full, weekly and flexi boarding options are offered, designed to meet your needs.
Located in the heart of England, at the foot of the picturesque Malvern Hills, the School has excellent transport links, with the M5 and M50 10 miles away giving easy access to the rest of the country. Great Malvern Station is located opposite the School with direct trains to London and Birmingham and connections to the South West and Wales. The School operates several private minibuses with multiple collection points around the region for your convenience. For international students, Birmingham and London airports are within easy reach by taxi.

Scholarships, Bursaries & Fees
Scholarships at Malvern St James Girls' School are offered in a variety of disciplines including Academic, Art, Drama, Flexi-Boarding, Music, Riding, Sport and Technology. Scholarships are designed to reward excellence and to celebrate exceptional talent. We welcome open applications for Scholarships and Exhibitions at 11+, 13+ and 16+, which are awarded on merit.
Applicants should have considerable potential; ideally, they will already be achieving the best possible marks in their respective fields, whether academic or practical. In addition, applicants should be outstanding role models for other girls.
Year 7
- Year 7 Scholarships are awarded for excellence in the following specialist areas: Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sports.
Year 9
- Year 9 Scholarships are awarded for excellence in the following specialist areas: Academic, Art, Drama, Music, Riding, Sports, Flexi-Boarding and Technology.
Year 10
- Year 10 Scholarships are awarded for Flexi-Boarding.
Sixth Form
- Sixth Form Scholarships are awarded for excellence in the following specialist areas: Academic, Art, Drama, Music, Riding, Sports and Technology alongside the Founders' Award.
Bursaries
Our bursary programme is generous and designed to make it possible for as many girls as possible who meet Malvern St James entry criteria to take up a place here. Alongside sibling, forces and Old Girl Association discounts, we also offer means-tested bursaries. These are worth up to a maximum of 40% discount from the fees
Fees Information
Occasional boarding
Years 3-8: Day fees include two free nights per term and up to five paid nights per term - £80.00 per night
Years 9-13: Day fees include three free nights per term and up to three paid nights per term - £80.00 per night
Exeat Weekend £80.00 per night
An additional administration fee of £1,400 per term is made in respect of international boarders entering the Sixth Form directly. For girls studying under a Tier 4 Visa, an additional £150 per term will be added to the School bill to cover Tier 4 compliance administration.

Admissions Process
Following a visit, Registration is the first stage in the Admissions process and this reserves a place for your daughter at MSJ (subject to the successful completion of the Entrance Examinations).
Prior to your daughter sitting Entrance Examinations you will need to complete the Registration documents and a fee is payable at this stage to cover publication and postage costs as well as examination fees if an application is submitted.
