About the school
Charlotte House Prep School is a forward thinking school built on traditional values. Our girls learn through discovery, are aware of the world around them and experience the very best in art, music and literature. They are offered every opportunity to shine in this secure and unthreatening environment. Our school motto "I am, I can, I ought, I will" has been central to our ethos for over 80 years. This teaches our girls a sense of self worth, an understanding of right and wrong and the confidence to succeed. Our school emblem is the skylark. It reminds our girls to fly high, and always be confident in themselves and their abilities. We offer a diverse and stilulating curriculum for girls aged 3-11. Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions we take for our children. Parents choose us for the following reasons: Small class sizes, high teacher:pupil ratio, dedicated and committed teaching and non teaching staff, specialist teaching staff in French, Spanish PE, music and art, specialist teaching areas, extensive extra-curricular provision, a reputation for ensuring first choice school at 11+, a school full of hard working, motivated and courteous girls, early morning (Larks) 7.35-8.30 and after school (Owls) 3.00-6.00pm provision.
Lara Flecker,Author and Tricia Krauss, Illustrator visit Forms III – VI at Charlotte House Prep School
25th September 2019 — Forms III – VI enjoyed a special visit this week from the creators of “Midnight at Moonstone”. Lara Flecker based her new book on her many years as a senior textile consultant at the V and A Museum, combining her exciting story telling with amazing detail of historic costumes. The book was illustrated in intricate detail by Tricia Krauss who showed the girls the incredible process she goes through to create the drawings. The girls loved dressing up in some of the more extravagant undergarments from other centuries and asked numerous questions. Our budding writers and illustrators were certainly inspired.

15th May 2019 — We were honoured to be invited to join with the North London Military Wives Choir and host an evening of music and songs at Charlotte House.
The evening boasted a wealth of talent with solos, group numbers and the choirs all performing some familiar tunes.
It was the first time one of the Military Wives’ original songs could be prepared as an ensemble piece with another choir. Forms V and VI rose to the challenge, working on ‘Carry Me’ by Adam Langston in their music lessons. After a quick run through just prior to the concert, they performed it beautifully with the ladies in the North London Military Wives Choir as a finale.
The evening ended with a standing ovation as the audience were so appreciative of the spectacular entertainment that they are sure to remember for a long time.

I have been commenting to friends that the Charlotte House girls really do have a 'spark' about them and I am sure this shines through in the interviews. Congratulations to the school - all the staff are really doing a fantastic job and my daughter will leave Charlotte House with the best gift we can hope for - the love of learning!’
