About the school
Blackheath High has been educating girls since 1880. Put simply, we are specialists in what we do.
This is a school where we encourage students to ignore gender stereotypes. Girls relish ballet, football, science or art with equal passion. We place strong emphasis on positive female role models. We focus on cultivating girls’ courage and we have a wealth of experience in building intellectual agility and emotional resilience. This means we are well known for the poised and impressive nature of our graduates.
We offer a range of scholarships and bursaries to girls who demonstrate excellent potential on entry to Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12 only.
The presence of a significant proportion of highly able and well-motivated girls from families who would otherwise be unable to consider an education at Blackheath High School, is an important factor in achieving and maintaining high academic standards for the benefit of the whole school.
We appreciate that not everyone can afford to pay full fees for their daughter’s education which is why we offer a number of means-tested bursaries to girls of excellent academic potential entering Year 7, Year 9 or Year 12. The value of the bursary is dependent upon the income and financial resources of the applicant’s family. Bursaries are awarded on a sliding scale depending upon household income but can represent as much as full fees. A partial bursary may be granted to a girl who has won a subject scholarship, with the combined value never exceeding the full fees.
Fees must be paid by the Bank Direct Debit system and the necessary form can be provided either by the school or by the Trust Head Office. The fees may be paid either termly in advance or by the monthly instalments (4 per term).
