About Crosfields School
Crosfields is a co-educational independent day preparatory school for children aged 3-13 years. Set in 40 acres of grounds on the outskirts of Reading, it currently has approximately 550 pupils. Founded in 1957, Crosfields celebrated its Golden Jubilee recently and offers a high standard of learning achieved within a happy, caring and stimulating environment. Crosfields has an excellent record of academic success, with all Year 8 leavers gaining places at their senior schools of choice in recent years including a good number of scholars. Facilities are first class. There is an onsite sports centre which includes a state-of-the-art heated swimming pool and sports hall, a brand new artificial turf pitch, theatre, music school and the classrooms are light and spacious. In 2018, Crosfields ranked 4th in the country with the IAPS following the IAPS Swimming Championships that were held in June. The Oaks building opened in October 2007 and houses a state of the art IT suite, library, a Design Technology department and 'The Hub', a purpose built Learning Empowerment centre at the top of the building. The Nursery opened in September 2008 in a spacious detached house within the grounds with bespoke garden and play areas that were redesigned and completed in the Autumn of 2018.
