We are passionate about, and experts in, girls’ education. We believe in providing an education that will equip our students to grow intellectually, think independently and become confident and responsible young women. What really sets us apart is our focus on each girl as an individual. We are proud that our size means we get to know every girl personally. It is this academic and pastoral support that means we can help each girl to reach her full potential and become the most amazing person she can be.
Creativity is central to our ethos, and girls are encouraged to develop creative and critical thinking in their academic subjects, as well as in the traditional creative subjects of art, drama and music which are strongly represented. Girls can take advantage of the many opportunities on offer including competitive sport, the popular Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities.
We enjoy an excellent academic reputation, which is especially notable as we are a non-academically selective school. We consistently score highly on ‘value added’ measures which show that each girl significantly exceeds her expected grades.
The Good Schools Guide said of the school that ‘a light should be shone on it’ and Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) found us to be ‘excellent’ and ‘outstanding’ in every way. In every area judged, we gained the highest rating possible for the school, boarding and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Pupils benefit from excellent facilities which enable them to explore new interests and develop talents. Specialist facilities include two art studios and photography suite, a professionally equipped studio theatre and dedicated music centre with recording facilities. There is also an AstroTurf pitch, dance studio, gymnasium and fitness suite, tennis courts and a heated outdoor swimming pool.
