Within St. Andrew’s walls children feel secure and confident and are highly motivated to perform to the best of their ability in all aspects of school life. They are competitive without losing sight of their responsibility to share and they are justifiably proud of their school and their own personal achievements. In a world of changing values, self confidence and a solid grounding are essential building blocks for life. St. Andrew's hopes to provide all their children with this basic foundation as they prepare for the bigger challenges that follow. Children are prepared for entrance and scholarship exams to a wide range of independent senior schools and there are specialist teaching facilities for all subjects including science, ICT, music and art. The curriculum is broad and the school places great emphasis on music, sport and the arts. St. Andrew's is very proud of its excellent on-site facilities including a brand new theatre, food tech room, classrooms, library and changing rooms, together with excellent sports pitches, tennis courts, cricket nets and an outdoor heated swimming pool. We are very fortunate to enjoy the benefits of carefully designed school grounds that incorporate facilities to meet the needs of the children's physical and social development. Main school games are football, hockey, cricket, netball and rounders. Other activities include cross-country running, swimming, tennis and athletics. Children can be supervised at school from 8am and, through our extensive after-school activities programme for Year 3 and above, until 6/6.30 pm most evenings during the week. There is also an after-school club from 4.15pm to 6pm (chargeable) for Pre-Prep, Year 3 and Year 4 children. Children are assessed for entry into Year 2 and above. The school has a number of scholarships and bursaries available at 7+ and 11+. St. Andrew's School is a Registered Charity, number 297580, established to promote and provide for the advancement of education of children.
