Scholarships & Bursaries
The Junior Department awards scholarships for entry into years 4 and 5 in the areas of: Academic Excellence, Music and Sport. Scholarships of 10% (Minor) - 20% (Major) of tuition fees for Academic Excellence, and 5% (Minor) - 10% (Major) of tuition fees for all other areas, are awarded on merit. We may also supplement these with further financial assistance based on your family's needs though a means tested bursary. Junior Department scholarship days are held annually at the end of November.
Leweston offers a limited number of means tested bursaries to families from a broad range of income levels. However, for our bursary programme to be truly effective and to aid as many deserving families as possible, it is expected that families will make their children's education a financial priority. Bursaries may take a variety of forms. Examples include a percentage of tuition or boarding fees, a proportion of the difference between tuition and boarding fees, and a fixed sum.
Leweston has had many years’ experience in catering for the needs of Forces families. As a boarding and day school we offer a range of different boarding options that allow girls and their families to find a style of boarding that works well for them, be it full, weekly or flexi boarding. Our boarders enjoy a busy and varied programme of activities both in the evenings and at the weekends.
Leweston offers a 10% discount on the full boarding and tuition fees for daughters of military families (this will increase to a 20% discount from September 2017). Fees can be reduced further still if families are entitled to the MOD Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA). Please see the download below for a breakdown of the costs.
